Hebrews 5: Jesus our high priest
Jesus transformed our relationship with God. No longer is there a separation between human and divine - no longer do we need to approach God through a priest shrouded in ritual and laws. Jesus invites you into the throne room of heaven today.
We continue our series on Hebrews and turn to chapter 4 as the writer continues to contrast the old with the new and compares the new relationship God established with mankind through Jesus our new high priest - so much better than the old system which required continual sacrifices and rituals from the human priests.
“Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathise with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
